Former teacher and mother of two boys, Eva Born, created Sunwashed. After her second child was born in 2004, Eva became increasingly frustrated with the lack of hip and unique boys clothes on the market. She began making her own t-shirts for her sons, which quickly became a hit with family and friends. The business grew from there…

Founded in Palo Alto, CA, Sunwashed captures Northern California’s casual and free-spirited lifestyle. Sunwashed creates hand dyed t-shirts, onesies and rompers that feature vintage inspired fabrics. All Sunwashed products are 100% cotton for ultimate kid comfort. T-shirts and rompers have been washed in a solution that provides extra sun protection – UPF protection of 30. This protection will last for up to 20 washes. T-shirts have names that parents and children will appreciate, like Mellow Yellow and Funky Blues. The Sunwashed philosophy caters to parents who want something colorful, comfortable and truly unique; who want to support small business and value these qualities in their everyday living.

Founder and designer Eva Born grew up in Eugene, Oregon under the aesthetic influence of her parents, both professors of architecture. Heavily influenced by her mother’s Finnish background and Eugene’s bohemian community, Eva’s style is both European and organic. Eva’s background includes a BA in Economics and an MA in Education. Working with children for ten years motivated Eva to create a children’s line that isn’t cookie-cutter and will stand-up during a full day of running and playing.
